Just some music quotes.

I am absolutely addicted to quotes and I love finding ones about music.

"Swim for the music that saves you when you're just not sure you'll survive." - Jack's Mannequin

"The best lyrics are the ones that give you goosebumps or make you cry in public or help you realize the answers."

"By the time our generation hits the age of 50, we're all going to be deaf. Funny thing is, no one cares. We blast our music to drown out today's psychotic society."

"I love the part of the song that moves you. That really, truly moves you. That part that you just can't explain why you love it so much. That single part that you play over and over again. It's unexplainable and people call you crazy for it, but it's that one part of a song that you adore. It's that part that inspires you, gives you hope, moves you. That part you scribble the lyrics to everywhere you go. It's the part that lets you know you're not alone. The part that makes you feel invincible. That's my favorite part."

"Music can save you. All you have to do is close your eyes, listen to the melody and let it take you away."

"I sink into the lyrics with a sigh. The music, at least for a little while, fills a sweet sort of ache. When one song is done, another takes its place. An endless stream of comfort and distraction to help me for a while."

"Music is a total constant. That's why we have such a strong, visceral connection to it. Because a song can instantly take you back to a moment or a place or even a person. No matter what else has changed in you or the world, that one song stays the same, just like that moment." - Just Listen by Sarah Dessen

"She sat listening to the music. It was a symphony of triumph. The notes flowed up. They spoke of rising and they were the rising itself. They were the essence and the form of upward motion. They seemed to embody every human act and thought that had ascent as its motive. It was a sunburst of sound, breaking out of hiding and spreading open. It had the freedom of release and the tension of purpose. It swept space clean and left nothing but the joy of unobstructed effort. Only a faint echo within the sounds spoke not of that from which the music had escaped, but spoke in laughing astonishment at the discovery that there was no ugliness or pain and there never had to be. It was the song of an immense deliverance."

"One thing she discovered with a great deal of astonishment was that music held for her more than just pleasure. There was meaning to it. The grouping of sounds, their forms in the air as they rang out and faded, said something comforting to her about the rule of creation. What the music said was that there is a right way for things to be ordered so that life might not always be just tangled, but have a shape, an aim. It was a powerful arguement that life did not just happen."

"I love that feeling of first discovering a band that sings everything I've ever wanted to speak."

"Instead of singing in the shower, I would write out the lyrics of my favorite songs. The ink would turn the water blue, or red, or green and the music would run down my legs."

I really hope you enjoy these.
